THE CLONES - DIARY TRANSCRIPTS VOL V
Vol I Vol II Vol III Vol IV
1982 Dec 26th MARK WRITES:
"Hi, hi, hi - it's boxing day 1982 and well we've all had a great time and ....
wow, presents and monopoly yeah, yeah, yeah.....and let me see, John's in the
bathroom, wow! - and now we're going to Ian and then Noel's place yeah...."

1983 Jan 29th For heaven's sake we [Mark, Noel and Ian] play our fourth gig as The Last Word.

July 9th It's been a long time since this diary has been written in...
    A lot has happened -
John has joined Division 4 and we wish him luck -
The Last Word has ceased to exist and Mark, Noel and Ian have become
The Reasons Why and have played about eleven gigs - we have even been offered
hope but from our experiences we know that we will not get anywhere - things
are so bad that even David is interested!

1984 Nov 24th It's been a long time! "yes" said the magic pumpkin.......
Well, the demo we did during 1983 was disappointing however, with the start
of 1984, we played at the likes of Sonia's and the Vulcan Hotel and we now have a new
member.....what's his name?........... ah yes, James! You know he plays and sings
(but not in this band), he also writes originals (but not in this band). But he
contributes in other ways and is a good luck charm.
We've been recording at EMI with a world mega-star producer, hitmaker and
    all round demi-god John B!!

[It should be noted that at this point the diary ceased to be written in, until........]

1991 Sep 15th Amazing though it may seem, these are the continuing adventures of John, Mark,
Noel and Ian as they continue their treacherous foray into the cut-throat music
    business.........
A drunken, high-spirited afternoon early in 1990 led to the suggestion of a reunion
in the air. Actually, nothing was mentioned until late on that day when someone said,
" So, are we gonna get back together or what?"

Now, over fifteen months later, we've played two gigs - if only we'd started writing
    this again earlier!!

[EDITOR'S NOTE: As no-one bothered to mention in the diary at the time, this reformed
Clones line-up was called The Groovediggers who went on to play six shows altogether
    before disbanding yet again]

.........and that, dear readers, is all that was written in The Clones diary

    THE END!!
